How much does painting a home cost??

There are several factors that directly affect the cost of painting a home. It depends upon the size of your home and what condition it is in, how tall your walls are, how many windows and doors you have, etc. We use an accurate photo-telemetry program to quickly measure your home and determine the size and scope of the project. After we compile the data, we can present you with an written estimate.

Do we have to move the furniture and drape it? Will you move my furniture for me?

We can make accommodations to move your furniture if you like, and we always make sure to drape every item with plastic to ensure that it’s protected from dust and paint.

I would like my house painted. Can you start tomorrow?

No. We have developed a reputation for extremely high standards in workmanship and quality, and we are busy as a result! On average, we generally are booking 2-6 months in advance. Please call 780-699-5171 to determine our next scheduled opening.

I received several other estimates and yours was higher than the others. What makes you different?

Have you ever heard the expression “It looks good from afar, but it’s far from good”? We make sure that the finishes we apply in your home look and feel good from both afar and up close. We spend more time sanding, filling, caulking, masking and vacuuming than other contractors. This extra time means more specialized finishes that are long lasting and beautiful, but more expensive. We never undervalue the importance of using the highest quality paint, and we only ever buy the best, most durable products for our client projects.

Do you do exterior home painting?

No, I’m afraid we do not. We have honed our craft on making the interiors of homes beautiful, and as a result, it tends to take up all of our time.

I approve the quote you sent me and I would like to secure a spot in your schedule, what is the next step?

In order to secure a spot in our queue, we require a 10%-20% deposit, depending upon the size and complexity of your project. After that, we will update you as to how our schedule is progressing, and 2 weeks before our estimated start date, we will call you to confirm. At that time, we will give you a short checklist of tasks that you should complete to make our transition into your home as efficient as possible.

Do you do cabinet and/or railing staining, lacquering and refinishing?

Yes. We do not use solvent borne lacquers though; we have sourced out and tested fantastic waterborne stains and lacquers from our suppliers, and we now employ their use 99% of the time. All of the products we use meet or exceed Canadian VOC emissions regulations.

Do you do the work yourself, or do you sub-contract it out to other painters?

We always complete the work ourselves to ensure the most stringent quality control. This ensures that the methods and systems that we know produce the best results are used, no matter how difficult the job. We keep our company small and specialized. We manage no more than 2 crews at a time to ensure that our work is the highest quality available in the region.

We really like what we see of your work, and would like you to paint our home, but can you match the price of the next lowest quote?

We’d be happy to sit down with you and make adjustments to the scope of work that you have requested to try to meet your budgetary goals, but generally trying to compare our prices to the competitors is like comparing apples and oranges. Our specialized skills and services differentiate us from other painting contractors in the area.
